i am drum major for a small (40-55) sized marching band, but i need some good team building ideas that wont be brushed off as “lame” by the other marching band members.

our band plays a game where everyone on your teem hold hands, and you have to go through a hoola-hoop without letting go. once you are through the hoop, you run to the end of the line. you can’t drop the hoop or let go. and you have to try to make it down the field.

we also have the game where you stand in a circle and then everybody sits down on each other’s lap. physics makes it so that you don’t just fall over randomly, and you do little things until one team is left standing “sitting”. such as, hold out your left arm, now your right, put out the foot that is on the outside of the circle. sin the hokey pokey, do the hokey pokey and bounce at the “do the hokey pokey” part.

the last one that i can think of is having your teams spell out words with their bodies. like make the letters, and at the end the whole band spells out your school. like our band spells out golden wave, because we are the golden wave marching band:) ditsyblonde203
